26 Hungarian Creators Showcase at Milan Design Week

The Budapest Select – Patterns of Being exhibition will open at one of the world’s most important design events, in Milan’s 5VIE design district, from 21 to 26 April 2026, providing Hungarian product and object designers with an international showcasing opportunity. This year, the Budapest Select platform, brought to life by Creative Hungary, exhibits works by 26 Hungarian product designers and fine and industrial artists, presenting a diverse selection of contemporary Hungarian design through 65 objects.

Reed-built Athmosphere: VÜ Architects Design the Milan Budapest Select Installation

The spatial concept of the Budapest Select – Patterns of Being exhibition, to be presented at Milan Design Week, was designed by the VÜ Architects firm, based on the decision of the advisory panel. The studio’s reed-based installation will create a sensitive, “breathing” exhibition environment in the 5VIE design district in Milan from 21 to 26 April 2026. The project contributes to the international presentation of contemporary Hungarian design, translating the questions of human existence and responsibility to spatial experience and supports the successful showcase of 26 Hungarian designers.

Budapest Select - Collective Hungarian Design Exhibition at Milan Design Week

In 2026, Creative Hungary, under the Budapest Select umbrella brand, will return for the fifth time to Milan Design Week, the world’s most important and influential design event, showcasing the outstanding contemporary design works and artefacts of the Hungarian design scene. The Budapest Select – Patterns of Being exhibition will present 65 works by 26 Hungarian designers in Milan’s 5VIE design district from 21 to 26 April 2026. The display examines the role of humans in shaping the world through the intersection of design and art, connecting with this year’s Milan Design Week theme, “Be the Project.”
