During fashion week, not only do the runways take centre stage: throughout Budapest Central European Fashion Week, the entire city is drawn into the flow of fashion. Between 9 and 15 February, a total of 52 side events will welcome everyone who wishes to connect more closely with contemporary fashion, whether as industry professionals or as visitors open to inspiration.
The programme series spans the entire capital as galleries, design stores, creative workshops, cultural institutions, and studios all join the contemporary atmosphere of fashion week. BCEFW thus becomes a truly city-wide experience, where visitors can explore the latest directions of the Hungarian and regional creative scene across a wide range of locations and formats.
At the 17th BCEFW, craftsmanship, material use, and object culture will play a key role through multi-day exhibitions and open studios. Sustainability will also be prominently featured, with upcycling-focused events, zero-waste workshops, and programmes promoting conscious wardrobe building that address the fashion industry’s current challenges. Showroom and studio visits will provide direct encounters with designers, while pop-up events and limited-edition collections will often include opportunities for discounted purchases.
The BCEFW side events also highlight fashion’s points of connection: collaborations spanning the beauty industry, contemporary fine art, interior and object culture, and the lifestyle sector further enrich the programme. Bridal fashion receives special attention, with bridal-focused events and programmes connected to the Bridal Fashion Show offering insight into current trends. Curated evening social events create informal meeting points for designers, industry professionals, and the general public.
Dedicated content is also available for professional audiences: the Creative Forum and Creative Academy provide practical knowledge, industry perspectives, and fresh inspiration for players in the creative and beauty industries.
A significant portion of the side events are free of charge, while some programmes require prior registration or invitation.
