ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Vivien Bene
The designer’s practice focuses on the malleability of woven structures and the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional textile techniques. Her creative process is based on research, experimentation, and an ongoing dialogue with material. In her works, structure, rhythm, and surface form a unified language, through which craft knowledge and experience related to hand-woven textiles are placed within a contemporary context.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECT

Ikat weaving appears not as a traditional textile technique, but as the starting point of a creative process that seeks balance between traditional and modern approaches. In woven surfaces that explore the relationship between structure and pattern, the composition is determined by the structure of the weave itself. Weaving thus becomes not only a means of producing ikat, but a guiding principle of the creative process, enabling new modes of visual thinking and material interpretation.
