ABOUT THE BRAND
TIKTIK studio is an art-focused, environmentally conscious design brand creating primarily wool rugs alongside upcycled and custom-designed furniture. Developed in collaboration with contemporary visual artists, each piece carries a distinct artistic perspective and unique character. For the studio, design is not simply an object but an evolving, conscious creative process shaped by connection and collaboration.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Janka Sára Balázs
The illustrator of the image appearing on the wool rug, Janka Sára Balázs is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Rotterdam. Her work combines illustration and animated filmmaking, with a focus on poetic visual storytelling. Often inspired by her surroundings, she reflects on the observations and relations that surround her, whether social, individual or just a slice of life. Exploring them through bold shapes, negative space, and rich colours, her work often inspects the tension between cultural expectations and the reality of women’s lived experiences. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animation from the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2025.
