ABOUT THE BRAND
REFLECTA is a contemporary lighting collection inspired by the lamps and assembly methods of a now-closed Hungarian factory. The project aims to explore, understand and translate the values of this former industrial context into a contemporary setting, not through reconstruction but through reinterpretation. Familiar metal-spun silhouettes are given new proportions, structural solutions and light behaviour, forming objects that carry a visual and cultural narrative.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Nóra Szilágyi
In her design practice, Nóra Szilágyi focuses on manufacturability and clear, well-structured systems. Alongside this, she is interested in projects where personal, cultural or social narratives can add an additional layer to an object without compromising its functionality. She creates intuitive, easy-to-use designs that are grounded in real contexts and shaped through collaboration, curiosity and an openness to different communities and fields.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITED OBJECTS
REFLECTA - Pendant lamp
The REFLECTA - Pendant lamp is built around a large, metal-spun aluminium shade with a layered construction that provides both direct and reflected light. Light filtering from beneath the upper element creates a subtle glow along the side of the shade, allowing the lamp to shape atmosphere as well as illumination. The familiar industrial silhouette appears with contemporary proportions and refined details, placing the traditional pendant lamp typology into a new context.
REFLECTA - Floor lamp
The REFLECTA - Floor lamp is based on a slender steel structure that carries two metal-spun aluminium shades. The lamps can be oriented in different directions, allowing the light to function as both task and ambient lighting. Movable upper elements enable fine adjustment of the light’s character, while the weighted base provides stability for the tall yet visually light structure.
REFLECTA - Portable lamp
The REFLECTA - Portable lamp is the most compact piece in the collection, distilling the essence of the metal-spun silhouettes into a restrained, portable form. The downward-widening shade and the light filtering from beneath the upper rim create both focused illumination and a soft glow. Its size allows for easy repositioning, working either as an independent object or alongside the other lamps to create more intimate lighting situations.
