The Central European Creative Awards, launched by Creative Hungary, has published its shortlist, marking the start of public voting. A total of 102 entries were submitted from Hungary and several Central European countries for the inaugural edition of the award. Voting opened simultaneously with the announcement of the finalist projects.
The Central European Creative Awards builds on the decades-long legacy of the Hungarian Design Award and was created with a renewed structure and regional focus. The initiative aims to place outstanding achievements in the Central European creative industry into the international spotlight and to strengthen Hungary’s role in the region’s creative economy.
The award recognises creative industry players across nine categories, including fashion and product design, game design, and beauty industry packaging, as well as presenting young talents and professional collaborations. The shortlist was compiled through a multi-stage professional process; the entries were first evaluated by an Advisory Board composed of domestic and international experts, and the final decision was made by the Hungarian Creative Industry Council. Three finalists were selected for each category.
The finalist projects reflect the diversity and current trends in the Central European creative industry, featuring innovative, marketable solutions, projects with strong visual and conceptual value, and collaborative initiatives. The award also highlights the young generation and regional talents.
As part of the Central European Creative Awards, the public is also invited to explore and evaluate the finalist projects. Voting is open until 30 April, with further information and the shortlist available on the award’s official website. Involving the public helps ensure that creative works receive broader social feedback alongside professional evaluation.
