Budapest, 30 January 2026 – The Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) AW2627 once again goes far beyond the catwalk: from 9 to 15 February, a total of 52 side events will welcome the general public and industry professionals at various locations in Budapest. Held by Creative Hungary, the fashion week connects the capital’s creative scenes through catwalk shows, as well as exhibitions, showroom and studio visits, pop-up events, workshops, professional talks, and community programmes.

BCEFW AW2627 side events span the entire city: downtown shops, galleries, and design studios, as well as cultural institutions, creative spaces and iconic venues in outer districts all join the vibrant programme of the fashion week. The multi-day event series transforms the fashion week into a city-wide cultural experience built around discovery, where visitors can engage with contemporary fashion and creative industry innovations across different disciplines, locations, and formats.

A key element of the programme is the presentation of craftsmanship, material use, and object culture, showcased through multi-day exhibitions. At the same time, sustainability and circular thinking will also be prominent. The events focusing on upcycling, zero-waste workshops, and programmes supporting the development of a conscious wardrobe reflect current issues of the fashion industry. The open workshops and showroom days will provide an opportunity for direct encounters with designers, while the pop-up events and limited-edition collections place the customer experience at the forefront, often accompanied by special purchasing offers.

During BCEFW AW2627, fashion’s points of connection with other creative fields also come into focus. Collaborations with the beauty industry, contemporary visual arts, interior and material culture, and lifestyle also enrich the fashion week’s programme. Bridal-focused events – including an exclusive press event and the connected Bridal Fashion Show programmes – highlight current directions in wedding fashion. Curated evening community events extend the atmosphere of fashion week, creating meeting points for designers, industry professionals, and the wider public alike.

The side-event programme also includes professionally focused initiatives: Creative Forum, organised by Creative Hungary, offers practical knowledge and industry perspectives for creative industry professionals, while Creative Academy places the spotlight on the digital visibility and brand communication challenges faced by players in the beauty industry.

BCEFW side events are open to professionals and the public alike. Most programmes are free, while some events require prior registration or an invitation.

Budapest Central European Fashion Week

Since its founding in 2018, Creative Hungary (formerly the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency) has organised Budapest Central European Fashion Week twice a year, establishing it as the region’s premier fashion event. For many years, the event has been the number one meeting point between the broad audience, buyers, designers, influencers and domestic and international media in the region. Hungarian fashion and design industry events increase the country’s tourist attraction and national economic growth, provide visibility for Hungarian brands, and result in international orders.

Creative Hungary

Creative Hungary was founded in 2018 under the name Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency to support all actors in the fashion and design industries in an efficient and structured manner, following predetermined strategic pillars: professional coordination, enhancing Hungarian brands’ availability and trade opportunities, educational development and manufacturing development. In line with global trends, the boundaries between individual creative industries have expanded in recent years, with cross-disciplinary collaborations becoming increasingly important. In response to industry and technological changes, the Organisation’s scope of activities expanded in 2025. Today, Creative Hungary serves as the highest-level coordinating Organisation of the Hungarian creative industry, encompassing the fashion and textile industries, furniture manufacturing and product design, offline and online game design, and the beauty and personal care industries. Its primary tasks include strategic cooperation with professional partners, increasing exports, and supporting Hungarian brands’ professional development through mentorship programmes. It is responsible for organising the region’s flagship fashion event, Budapest Central European Fashion Week, Budapest Design Week, and the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, which has received international awards. Additionally, it provides Hungarian creators with opportunities to participate in and debut at international professional events, including Milano Fashion Week and the Maison & Objet design fair.
