The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s design START mentoring program provides professional support for emerging domestic designers, launching the brands on the way to success. To qualify for the mentoring program, you must have successfully completed an open call for applications. The program wishes to fill an important gap in the industry by providing young domestic product designers with an overview of the operation of a design industry business from a wide spectrum. The mentored brands take part in a three-step program, including a series of workshops and presentations of eight modules, an internship at a domestic factory, and a study trip abroad. The aim of the design START mentoring program is that the brands chosen by the jury during the tender can improve their skills in the design, manufacturing, marketing communication, and business dimensions thanks to the knowledge gained. The goal is to realise a more solid and efficient operation for emerging businesses, create sustainable and customised business models, and strengthen domestic and international visibility both on online and offline platforms. The mentoring program’s main objective is to stabilise the brands and put them on a growth path. The HFDA encourages the progression of the participating designers in the design SPEED international mentoring program.
