Budapest Design Week (BDW) is Hungary’s longest-standing design event, with a history of more than two decades. Since 2024, the festival has been organized by Creative Hungary. Open to both professionals and the general public, the experience-based event series aims to present the role of design in everyday life in an accessible, inspiring, and educational way for all age groups.
BDW brings contemporary Hungarian and regional creators closer to audiences across the country through large-scale programs — exhibitions, workshops, open studios, and professional talks.
The series highlights the cultural and economic significance of design, provides space for showcasing new directions and sustainable solutions, and strengthens collaboration among creators, institutions, and businesses. The event plays an important role in positioning Hungary as an increasingly influential regional hub within the creative industries.
