The journey of three talented Hungarian designers — WINNA, Valentin Szarvas, and FANNILSZL — led from Budapest to Ljubljana, where they presented their latest collections at the 16th Ljubljana Fashion Week. The show was realised as a Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) collective show under the collaboration of the Slovenian organisers and the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA). It opened a new chapter in the relationship between the Hungarian and Slovenian fashion scenes.
On 16 October, under the BCEFW Collective Show, the three brands demonstrated to the Ljubljana audience why it is worth paying attention to the new generation of Hungarian fashion designers. The designers’ latest collections, with a fresh and contemporary perspective, presented the perfect balance between creativity, experimentation, and delicate elegance on the runway.
The partnership with Ljubljana Fashion Week (LJFW) was launched last year, with five Hungarian brands showcasing in Slovenia. The show provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen professional relations in Central Europe and draw attention to Hungarian designers who prove their worth on the international fashion scene as well.
Like last year, the Ljubljana Liszt Institution also joined the event by organising a networking event following the fashion show. Moreover, the institution enriched the Fashion Week programme with an exciting roundtable discussion and a special exhibition. It displayed works by photographer Ádám Jelen, who captured the pieces of the brand KATA SZEGEDI with a marvellous sensitivity, uniquely showcasing the intersections of fashion and art through his photos.
Thanks to the partnership between BCEFW and LJFW, eight Hungarian brands have showcased in Ljubljana. At the same time, Slovenian designers are frequent participants in the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, where they appear under the Ljubljana Fashion Week Collective Show each year.
The organisers of Ljubljana Fashion Week selected the three participating Hungarian brands from among the young designers showcasing at BCEFW. The collections of WINNA, Valentin Szarvas, and FANNILSZL debuted successfully in Budapest and were presented to an international audience in Ljubljana.
These collaborations not only increase the international visibility of Hungarian fashion designers but also contribute to strengthening Budapest Central European Fashion Week’s position as the leading fashion event in the Central European region.
