Hungarian Design Manufacturers Achieve Success in Frankfurt

2026/02/10

Hungarian design industry manufacturers presenting at this year’s Ambiente international trade fair attracted significant professional attention. Organised by Creative Hungary, the joint exhibition, offering a glimpse of contemporary Hungarian design, successfully increased the international visibility of manufacturers as well as the entire domestic sector.

Five Hungarian design industry manufacturers, Econor Design, KARA & CO., Loomiosa, Rotte Group, and YOZA, debuted under the Budapest Select umbrella brand at the defining professional event of the global and German markets between 6 and 10 February 2026 in Frankfurt. Marking another milestone in the international positioning of Hungary’s creative sector, this year saw the Hungarian design scene exhibit for the first time at Ambiente with a joint professional stand. The representative appearance not only created an opportunity to showcase the latest achievements in Hungarian furniture and lighting design but also initiated meaningful dialogue with the international professional audience, strengthening the position of Hungarian designers among the region’s key creative industry players. In addition, the collective stand directly supported the exhibiting brands’ export ambitions and the development of their international networks.

At the event, which attracted approximately 140,000 visitors from nearly 170 countries this year, Hungarian manufacturers showcased their portfolios on a 150-square-metre stand with a unified brand identity. The professional backbone of the presentation was formed by the Budapest Select showcase, curated through an open call with the involvement of an advisory board composed of renowned experts. Interest from visitors, primarily from the commercial and service sectors, remained steady throughout the exhibition. Beyond professional success, this was clearly reflected in the fact that participating companies secured several orders on site and also received invitations for international design collaborations. The success of the representative appearance and the validity of the curatorial concept were further confirmed by showroom invitations extended to the Agency by several prominent international professional exhibitions and trade fairs during Ambiente.

The new professional and business connections established by the manufacturers at the trade fair may contribute in the long term to the brands’ international growth, thereby reinforcing the economic performance of the industry as a whole. The latest international success of Budapest Select further strengthens the global visibility of the Hungarian creative industry, particularly contemporary Hungarian design, contributing to Budapest’s long-term ambition to become a leading creative hub in the Central European region.
