Dynamic, sustainable, and vibrantly experimental: BORBALA’s latest collection was unveiled to great interest on the runway of Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week in mid-October. The brand presented its SS26 pieces among the imposing walls of the National Museum of Art of Romania, where leading actors in the Central European fashion scene received the Hungarian designer’s work with acclaim.
The show was part of the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week and Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) with the professional support of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA). The collaboration aims to provide more international platforms for Central and Eastern European talents to showcase their collections. BORBALA’s appearance demonstrated that the Hungarian fashion industry’s creative energy extends far beyond its borders.
The BORBALA SS26 collection builds on the brand’s well-known upcycling approach, featuring bold silhouettes, colourful patchwork textures, and playful recycled materials. The designer has once again proven that ethical fashion is not a compromise but a source of inspiration. The garments, given new life from old materials, conveyed a powerful message about conscious yet free-spirited creativity.
The Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week was launched only a few years ago, but has already become one of the most dynamically evolving fashion events in the region. BORBALA’s successful show in Bucharest demonstrates that the creativity, character, and authenticity of Hungarian fashion resonate more and more intensively on the world’s runways.
